Remembrance at the Parish Church

On Friday 9th November years 5 and 6 walked to the Parish Church to look at the Remembrance displays. The children were overwhelmed by the amount of hand-knitted and crocheted poppies on display to represent all the lives lost in WW1. They were also surprised to see so many purple poppies-which represented all the animals that were also killed during that time.

The children walked around the church looking and reflecting on what they could see. They were amazed to find that so many local heroes from in and around Kendal lost their lives in battle. Some children even found men that shared their birthday/surname or address.
