School's Christian Vision
Pupils at our school are encouraged to be bold and live a fulfilling life through the values of compassion, responsibility and courage as they grow to have a better understanding of themselves, find their place in the world and learn what it means to love their neighbour.
Our school vision grew organically from our values and from the children instantly embracing 'Be bold, be strong' (based on Joshua 1:9) as our school song. It encompasses the aspiration we have for our children to succeed in an everchanging and often demanding and difficult world. It takes account of self-knowledge, self-development and self-kindness, ever increasingly aware of the need for good mental health.
Our vision echoes the stated British Values of democracy; individual liberty; the rule of law; mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths, embraces the universal Golden rule and challenges us to be that Good Samaritan.
In the Summer term of 2019, all children created a design to represent the story of the Good Samaritan. The governors then selected one from each class to be made in to a canvas; you can see these in the images above. The governors also selected three over all winners and their designs have been made in to stained glass panels which now hang in the school hall.
Have a look below at the visit to see the designs in progress and also the finished display in school.
