Prayer - Lord, Teach us to pray!

During one of our Collective Worship weeks, we explored the ‘identity of being a Christian.’ We identified one element of this as Prayer. Year 4 had the opportunity to observe various children taking part in prayer; this was a valuable experience, with children commenting on prayer being like ‘talking to a friend.’

What is prayer and how should it be done?

We compared the text from our Bible with the traditional version of The Lord’s Prayer to understand the source of the traditional version.

Rev Shanthi also led a weekly worship session in the Autumn term, looking at the Lord's Prayer. We learned about what it means and actions to go with each section to help us remember it. We also learned a song with actions about talking to God called 'Prayer is like a telephone'. Click on the link below to listen to the song.
